Due to the packed calendar, tennis players will have to travel to many different countries now that the season is set to resume. Most of them end up traveling to the United States as the US Open is played there. Australian tennis player, Ellen Perez has arrived there for the event. She has just spoken about the first question she gets asked every time she reveals she’s a tennis player, and it has to do with Serena Williams.

The Serena Williams’ Question

When a person enters the United States, they’re always asked about the purpose of their visit at customs. When Perez says that she is a tennis player, one specific question is always directed her way. She spoke about this in a tweet and said, Without fail every time I enter the US and customs asks my purpose for travel and I say tennis they ask me if I have played Serena Williams.”

This question should come as no surprise to anybody. Serena Williams is one of the most popular players around the world. Tennis fans hardly ever miss an opportunity to see her play. Now, they are looking forward to the next big event she is playing – the 2020 US Open.

Even though many players withdrew from the tournament, Serena confirmed her participation there. She probably did so because she wants to achieve one of her biggest goals – winning her 24th Slam.

Ever since she returned in 2018, the American star has been trying to equal Margaret Court’s record of 24 Slams. She has had several opportunities to do so as she reached the finals of many Majors. However, she lost all of them to some of the younger tennis players.

After so many attempts, Serena is probably more motivated than ever to win another Slam. She is going to play the 2020 US Open to the best of her abilities and who knows, she just might end up equaling the record!
