If the most popular WWE tag teams were a topic of discussion, the name that instantly emerges is none other than the famous RK Bro. The apparent mismatched alliance between Randy Orton and Matt Riddle was the main USP in its immense popularity. The duo last appeared in the ring months ago. Providing Randy Orton’s injury, one more shocking update unfolded that makes their end of the in-ring journey even more clear.

Matt Riddle’s WWE future is unsure

Matt Riddle, who was suspended for violating the company’s Wellness Policy twice and went to rehab for treatment, is likely to be not able to move further with WWE. During a conversation with Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed the Original Bro’s unsure WWE status.

Meltzer noted, ‘He’s been out of rehab for a long time, his suspension has been over for almost a month now – four weeks. It may be that they’ve just decided not to use him for Mania and not do anything with him, or maybe they just don’t want to invest in him’

Stressing on the point of his chances of discontinuation, Meltzer added, ‘I presume he’ll be back, but when he left they made a point of (saying) he was gonna be gone for six weeks, and we’re at about 11 or 12 weeks.’

Controversies took a massive toll on Riddles’ WWE career

Matt Riddle was among a few recent examples of successful transitions from NXT to the main roster. He had been an incredible run in both of these brands. But controversy is something that proved to be a constant for him. Apart from the aforementioned drug test failing scandal twice, the top NXT star has reportedly been alleged of cheating and abuse by adult movie stars. In 2020, even more humiliation hit him when his ex-wife accused him of sexual abuse. All these downs and scandals of his personal life seemingly took a toll on his in-ring career and brought his WWE future in front of a big question mark.

The Original Bro played his last match on December 5, last year, where he failed to dethrone The Usos and become the Undisputed Tag Team Champions, along with Kevin Owens. Since then, it was not very smooth going for the 37-year-old former NXT star.
