2023 is a huge year for the McLaren F1 team. The team that started its journey back in 1963, has crossed its 60 years in the sport this year. This simply makes the Woking-based team not only a powerhouse in F1 but also a team full of heritage for staying and slaying in the game for so long. As the Papaya team is all set to start their 60th F1 campaign, team driver Lando Norris has a huge target in sight and is hopeful to follow the footsteps of the great Ayrton Senna, Lewis Hamilton, and take McLaren back to the top, again.

Norris recently appeared in an interview with This Morning show. There he was asked about the legacy and heritage his team holds. On this, Norris shared to this Morning show, “I would say so. I mean, I’m here in MTC, so behind me we have all the cars from Bruce McLaren’s car from like 19. I should know it in 1963 or something. Oh yeah, 60, 60 years, so yeah 1963 to today. So we see the history, we see every car from every season.”

The likes of Prost, Hakkinen, Senna, Hamilton. All that of I’ve come along through McLaren. So, it’s lovely to be a part of it. More importantly, it’s a pleasure to be part of the journey from where we were a few years ago to hopefully bringing back McLaren to the top because that’s where they deserve to be,” the Briton stated.

Lando Norris is optimistic about finding more success in 2023

The British driver has been a great addition to McLaren’s ammunition in the last few years. Fast, agile, and with a brilliant mindset, Norris has been very versatile both during the qualifications and race days. He’s been moderately successful with his outing in F1 so far, but he wants more. So much so that there are noises regarding him in Mercedes camp.

During the interview, he was asked about the success he received in F1. He said, “It’s tough. It’s hard to say what like a pure success is. As a driver, I want to win and that’s obviously not something I’ve done yet in F1.”

But you’ve to take one year at a time and kind of understand what success is in every single race. It was a good year last year, but I’m more excited for this year. So I’m excited for the one to come,” Norris concluded.
