When it comes to alpine skiing, Lindsey Vonn is one of the legends. In her phenomenal career, she has displayed her supremacy time and again. The new generation of skiers look up to Lindsey Vonn as their idol.

Lindsey Vonn was the first American woman to win the Gold medal at the downhill event in the Olympics. Additionally, she also won 4 overall world cup championships. She has the second-highest super ranking of all skiers, men or women.

After her successful sports career, Lindsey Vonn started her own business. After her retirement launched her own production house. However, Vonn has recently revealed that she wishes to get more respect as a businesswoman.

Lindsey Vonn takes business as a challenge

Lindsey Vonn started her own production company, Après Productions. With this, she hopes to narrate the stories of women in sports and their determination.

However, she reveals that there have been times she wasn’t respected enough in that area. And even though she had proved herself worthy as a businesswoman, she feels it’s all a learning process before everyone gives her the rightful respect. Vonn knows that venturing into business is no piece of cake.

 

“I think it’s a really good challenge for me. Obviously, I wish I had more respect, in a lot of ways, when I walk into a room for my opinion,” said Vonn.

However, she knows that this will take time. And Vonn is willing to go through that process, learn and improve. “I want to be able to walk into any boardroom and have people respect what I have to say. But I think that’s taken me a while.”

Lindsey Vonn is one of the many athletes who have gone into business after retirement.

One step at a time

Vonn revealed that it will take time for her to get the amount of respect that she wants. This is because right now, people still see her as an athlete. That transition from a sports person to a business professional will take a while.

“And I think it’s going to continue to take me a while to really have that level of respect. Because right now, I’m an athlete, and I’m coming into a room. I think my looks may or may not help me,” said Vonn.

However, she knows her job right now. She knows she has to work continuously for the company, give worthy advice and make sure the company is growing steadily. All these factors will in time, make other people in the business world give her the well-deserved respect.
