The fans on center court at Wimbledon were treated to an exciting game between Aryna Sabalenka and Ons Jabeur. The World No.4 beat the Tunisian 6-4, 6-3 in an hour and 13 minutes to reach her first Grand Slam semifinal.
The 23-year old proved her number two seeding at SW19, as she played some crisp shots and smart tennis to overcome the challenge. Ons Jabeur won the hearts of several fans with her Wimbledon campaign this year. However, she could not cross the Belarusian hurdle in the quarterfinals.

Both players went into battle, as they both failed to break each others serves in the first five games. Ons and Aryna were recording consecutive 100+ mph serves, as they both displayed sheer dominance over each other. However, it was Sabalenka who broke Jabeur’s serve in the sixth game.
A moment of crisis occurred for Ons Jabeur when rain hit the Wimbledon center court roof with full force. Jabeur did well to save her set points, as a result of some brilliant cross court forehand shots by Sabalenka. The number 21 seed at Wimbledon this tried to play a couple of cheeky shots to manipulate her opponent. However, Sabalenka proved her number two seeding at SW19 this year.
Aryna forced the Tunisian to make unforced errors when she arrived at a fifth set point. In the end, Sabalenka won the break point with a strong cross court shot, which Jabeur found difficult to return. Sabalenka won 6-4 in the first set to take the lead.

Sabalenka seemed like she wanted to assert dominance from the first point itself. The World No.4 from Belarus took a 2-0 lead in the second set, before Jabeur made a comeback to make it 3-2 in her favor. However, Sabalenka kept herself calm and composed to win three games in a row and make it 5-3.
A series of unforced errors made Jabeur lose her head and try a few cheeky lobs and drop shots. However, Sabalenka kept it simple with her cross court shots, making jabeur run on either side of the court. The fans enjoyed the game as Sabalenka overcame her mistakes during the set.
Aryna Sabalenka made it to her first Wimbledon Championships semifinal, as the center court roared for the Belarus national. She will face Karolina Pliskova of Czech Republic in the semifinals.
