As the tennis world is getting equipped for the Wimbledon Championships 2019, sadly a few former champions and some meritorious players will be absenting themselves from the lawns of SW19 due to their on-going injuries.
Juan Martin Del Potro
It was a gloomy day in the tennis world when Juan Martin Del Potro announced about his knee surgery a few days ago. The reigning semifinalist at Wimbledon re-fractured his right patella at Queen’s and that injury is certainly intimidating his tennis career. His surgery was successful in Barcelona and it was his second knee surgery in less than a year. The ‘Tower of Tandil’ is recuperating from his surgery.

Bianca Andresscu
The Indian Wells 2019 champion, Bianca Andresscu has been suffering tremendously with her shoulder issues. She withdrew from several tournaments including French Open 2019 and due to her ongoing rotator cuff issue, Andreescu has withdrawn from Wimbledon Championships 2019.
Borna Coric
Borna Coric became the lastest player to joined the list of casualties at Wimbledon Championships 2019 as due to his back pain he was compelled to withdraw from the grass-court major a day after the men’s draw was unveiled.
Dominika Cibulkova
The reigning quarterfinalist, Dominika Cibulkova will not be participating at this year’s Wimbledon.
Elena Vesnina
The Wimbledon doubles champion in 2017, Elena Vesnina is on her maternity hiatus and hence she won’t be seen at Wimbledon Championships 2019.
Jack Sock
The two-time Wimbledon doubles champion, Jack Sock injured his index finger while snowboarding during the off-season and his is still recovering from that nightmare.
Katie Boulter
Katie Boulter was handed a wildcard for Wimbledon Championships 2019 but due to her back injury, she stepped down. Boulter was blasted by tennis legend Billie Jean King since she withdrew from Roland-Garros after the main draw was unveiled.
Chung Hyeon
His back pain has pulled down his 2019 tennis season and his rankings have also fallen down. The South Korean youngster, Chung Hyeon is yet to make a comeback on the ATP circuit.
Thanasi Kokkinakis
Thanasi Kokkinakis has been dealing with shoulder problems and now struggling with an abdominal strain.
Sania Mirza
The 2015 Wimbledon doubles champion, Sania Mirza is on her maternity hiatus and hence she won’t be seen at Wimbledon Championships 2019.
Mackenzie McDonald
The pre-quarterfinalist at last year’s Wimbledon, Mackenzie McDonald has withdrawn from Wimbledon Championships 2019.
