Spencer Lee recently reigned supreme at the Bill Farrell Memorial International which booked him a slot at the Olympic trials. This hit the fans of Lee with a wave of happiness. However, his decision to compete at the senior national Olympic trials qualifier has left them confused.

While Spencer Lee looks in top form since he aced a highly competitive contest like Bill Farrell, the champion in him may need more training. Spencer Lee made a return to freestyle wrestling on 27th April 2023 at the US Open Wrestling Championship. Prior to this, Lee was out of competitive action since December 2019.

While he did make his return, it wasn’t a picture-perfect comeback story. Spencer Lee was out of action due to an injury, and his US Open return saw him getting injured again. In fact, despite picking big technical fall victories, Spencer Lee had to forfeit the final match because of an injury. While Lee had the luxury of walking out of the US Open, he had to face an upsetting loss just a month before in March.

Thus, while Lee has already qualified for the Olympic trials, he knows he needs to wrestle more to get a hang of the mat. With this, Spencer Lee would look forward to beating every potential Matt Ramos in his path and ace his upcoming contest.
