The Rap God, Eminem, will set the stage on fire in the Stadium SoFi during his Super Bowl LVI halftime performance on 13th February. It’s little known that he has been an avid follower of the NFL and has been a big fan of one of the teams, which many would find surprising to know.

Eminem rarely talks about his NFL team since he believes he might jinx their performance. The team that he so deeply roots for is the Detroit Lions. The rapper hails from Detroit, and just like his inclination for every sporting team in Detroit, the Slim Shady has a soft side for the Lions.

The Detroit-born rapper has also referred to the winless season of Detroit Lions in 2008 in one of his songs in his 2013 released album The Marshall Mathers LP 2. In his lyrics, he identifies himself as the Eagles Safety Brian Dawkins going up against the 0-16 Lions. The lyrics go as:

“Me against the world, so what? I’m Brian Dawkins.
Versus the whole 0 and 16 Lions offense”

Eminem a die-hard Detroit Lions fan

The rapper has also talked about him not speaking much about the team. He revealed that his statements might jinx the Lions in one way or another and that he is very cautious while speaking about the team. “I never say the Lions are going to do good or bad because I never wanna jinx that,” Eminem said. “The Lions overall are my favorite team. It’s my absolute favorite team, you know?”
