World No. 4 Dominic Thiem is one of the most promising players from the new lot of players. Although he’s been on Tour for a fair period, he still is mentioned amongst the likes of German tennis player Alexander Zverev, Greek talent Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Russian player Daniil Medvedev, to name a few.
Dominic Thiem is an Austrian player, born in Wiener Neustadt, which is located in the southern region of Vienna. Since he has lived most of his life in a region where people speak German on a large scale, he speaks the language with great fluency.
Besides, his English-speaking skills are not bad either. As English is one of the most used global languages and the official language on Tour, his ability to converse in it is commendable.

In the past, Swiss maestro Roger Federer has made it evident of his liking for Thiem’s accent, when he speaks in German or English. Roger stated, “I love his accent. In German, too, by the way, not just in English, and he knows that.”
Dominic Thiem used to learn French from Kristina Mladenovic
Not long ago, Thiem was involved in a relationship with tennis player Kristina Mladenovic. Since she was French, she would attempt to help her then-boyfriend to understand and speak the language. In the past, he has revealed that he understands the commentary in French and that he can read the French newspapers.
Dominic has been a two-time finalist at the French Open and had promised to work on French-speaking skills the next time he would be on stage.

Players of Europe speak more than one language
Usually, players belonging to Europe can speak more than one language. For instance, Federer, who hails from Switzerland, speaks 3-4 languages fluently. German, French, Italian, and English are some of the languages the Swiss people speak since they have a large population of people indulging in those languages.
