Being a successful Formula One driver, Lewis Hamilton has a number of toys at his disposal. From expensive houses to fast and exotic cars, Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has it all. At one point of time, he even had a private jet, but no longer possesses it. So, what happened to the £25million candy red Lewis Hamilton private jet?

Apparently, the Lewis Hamilton private jet, a Bombardier Challenger 605, was sold by the world champion. It was also worth noting that it was named in the infamous Paradise Papers. As it turned out, the 34-year-old got a £3.3million VAT refund on the jet.

According to reports, the Lewis Hamilton private jet was purchased by his company in the British Virgin Islands. Afterwards, is was leased to a second company in the Isle of Man, and again, to a third private company. Once the game of musical chairs was done, it went back to Lewis Hamilton.

The aircraft was bought in 2013 and he frequently used it to post pictures of him and his dogs, Roscoe and Coco. However, following the decision to adopt a greener lifestyle, he sold it.

According to The Sun, it is now owned by the private jet firm Saxon Air, based at Norwich Airport.

The plane, generated on average 1.67 tonnes of CO2 for each 5,400 flight between Los Angeles and Heathrow, stood in stark contrast to his apparent commitments to protect the planet.

In an earlier post he said: ‘I stopped eating red meat two years ago. I have generally been pescatarian for the majority of the year and now I’ve cut fish.

‘Pollution coming from the amount of cows are being produced is incredible. The cruelty is horrible and I want a healthier life.

‘They say it is more than what we produce with our flights and our cars, which is kind of crazy I think’.

While owning the craft, Hamilton also reportedly clashed with his pilot after the member of staff used his private toilet.
