What are the Salaries of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma & other Indian Cricketers as per BCCI Contracts?

While an Indian cricketer might have various sources of income, which includes endorsements and advertising, the players are under annual contracts with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). These contracts are renewed every year based on the performances of the players. Currently, only three players- Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah – earn 7 crore with grade A+ contract.

The categories of the contracts for men’s cricketers include-

• A+ Grade – Salary Rs. 7 crore
• A Grade – Salary Rs. 5 crore
• B Grade – Salary Rs. 3 crore
• C Grade – Salary Rs. 1 crore

Grade A+ (INR 7 crore): Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah

Grade A (INR 5 crore): R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, MS Dhoni, Shikhar Dhawan, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, Kuldeep Yadav, Rishabh Pant

Grade B (INR 3 crore): KL Rahul, Umesh Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Hardik Pandya

Grade C (INR 1 crore): Kedar Jadhav, Dinesh Karthik, Ambati Rayudu, Manish Pandey, Hanuma Vihari, Khaleel Ahmed, Wriddhiman Saha

Women’s cricket

Similar system is followed in women’s cricket for player contracts. In women’s cricket, there is no Grade A+, with Grade A, Grade B and Grade C players earning 50 lakhs, 30 lakhs and 10 lakhs per year respectively.

One of the senior-most players, Jhulan Goswami was moved to Grade B from A after having retired from T20Is. Youngster Poonam Yadav earned herself a Grade A contract and Jemimah Rodrigues too has been promoted to Grade B.
