It is a rather small world and one can never know who and what might be waiting for them along the next turn. Interestingly, Monaco is an even smaller world. Charles Leclerc whose ex-girlfriend Charlotte Sine and current girlfriend Alexandra Saint Mleux, were friendly before the Monegasque F1 driver began dating the latter, has often been subjected to weird comparisons on social media. Users mistook one for another, but the case of ‘mistaken identity’ went a little out of hand and beyond the realms of the virtual world.
Charles Leclerc dated Charlotte Sine for three years before their public mutual breakup in December 2022. But little did anyone know that the story was far from over. Very soon entered Alexandra Saint Mleux, a 21-year-old art history student, who suddenly became the talk of the town as Leclerc’s new love interest. The speculation grew when the pair were spotted together, enjoying their time in Monaco. Cut to 2024, the relationship is official but people still aren’t over Charlotte.

A gossip page on Instagram posted an ‘Oops’ moment where Alex was yet again mistaken for Leclerc’s ex. The post was captioned, “What a mistake, my God! The fashion magazine Marie Claire was interviewing Charles Leclerc, something about his girlfriend, so far everything was fine until they put a photo of Charlotte Sine (Charles’ ex) 👀😂 ps: the post was published on TikTok and after the repercussion it was deleted!”
This isn’t the first time someone has mistaken one for another as these comparisons have flooded the internet ever since Alexandra and Charles went public. However, another notable occurrence is the Monaco race this weekend and the crowned prince has something to say about the uncrowned prince of Principality.

Crowned Prince of Monaco predicts Charles Leclerc
The Monaco Curse has prevented Leclerc from achieving glory in his home race, Monaco i.e. not just in F1, but even during his F2 days. In 2017, he had to retire his car in both the Sprint and Feature F2 races. When the Monegasque arrived in F1, the story remained the same. From mechanical failures to Ferrari’s errors, every year one thing or the other has blocked the driver from that top step on the podium. But just like the Tifosi, Prince of Monaco, Albert II remains hopeful.
Speaking to David Coulthard and Eddie Jordan on the Formula for Success podcast, Albert II praised Monaco’s F1 hope. He stated that not only Monaco wants to see the Ferrari man win his home Grand Prix but also the coveted F1 world title someday. Despite the “Monaco Curse”, Albert II believes, “His [Leclerc’s] time will come if he has the right car of course, and if he has the right team around him.”
