India
India called Mayank Agarwal to replace Shikhar Dhawan in the ODI squad. However, KL Rahul is expected to open the innings along with Rohit Sharma.?Dhawan’s absence will give him an opportunity to show his calibre which might give selectors’ a headache for their next ODI series. Rishabh Pant, on the other hand, will try to give a fitting reply to his critics.
However, India got a big blow ahead of the series as their pace spearhead Bhuvneshwar Kumar got injured. Shardul Thakur has recalled as a replacement but his absence might give a chance for Deepak Chahar to stamp his authority on white-ball cricket. However, it will be interesting to see who will make it to the cut between Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav in Chennai’s slow pitch or Virat Kohli will include both of them in the playing XI.
Probable XI:
Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli (C), Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant (WK), Kedar Jadhav, Ravindra Jadeja, Deepak Chahar, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohammed Shami
