For those who don’t know, Shea Serrano is one of the most popular authors. He is also the face behind the popular sitcom, Primo. In a tweet, Serrano expressed his desire to start watching soccer and asked for recommendations on which league to follow. He asked for suggestions similar to the NBA and a fan mentioned Premier League.

The author considered this and added saying, “Now I just gotta pick a team”. Watt saw his opportunity and took to Twitter to make his pitch. In a hilarious exchange, Watt said, “Welcome Aboard. My name is JJ Watt and I’ll be your captain, guiding you through all things English Premier League”.

He wasted no time in assigning Serrano his new team, Burnley FC. The retired defensive end further added, “First things first, you now support Burnley Football Club”. He then introduced the team to Serrano saying, “We are the Clarets, we’ve been around since 1882 and Turf Moor is our home”. Watt’s witty and humorous approach further solidifies his commitment to his soccer investment. Other than inviting people to support his team, the NFL legend is excited about the new season.

The 2023-24 Premier League season is scheduled to begin on the second weekend of August. And it promises to start with an exciting matchup between Manchester City, the reigning champions, and Burnley, the winners of the EFL Championship.
