Gameweek 31 came to and end with Manchester United earning a memorable win at their neighbours’ home and Tottenham kept pace with leaders Leicester thanks to a Harry Kane brace.

Saturday saw Arsenal earn a 0-2 win at Goodison Park with goals from Danny Welbeck and Alex Iwobi as they won their first match in the Premier League since beating Leicester at home, Leicester City carried on their remarkable run with a narrow win at Selhurst Park thanks to a goal from the ever present Riyad Mahrez while West Ham earned a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge. Tottenham, playing on Sunday managed to keep pace with the table toppers as they ran out 3-0 winners against AFC Bournemouth. The battle for the much coveted fourth spot and Champions League qualification intensified with Manchester United nicking a 0-1 win courtesy of a goal from the young and impressive Marcus Rashford. It was a match to forget for Manchester City who lost Sterling and Hart to injuries, to add to the loss of Kompany and Otamendi. Sunday also saw Southampton come back from a two goal deficit to win 3-2 against Liverpool, thanks to a Mane brace and a goal from Graziano Pelle after Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge fired Liverpool to the lead.

In the other half of the table, Norwich City were the biggest winners as they won 0-1 away at West Brom and the derby between Newcastle and Sunderland finished in a draw. Swansea City moved closer to the forty point safety point with a one goal win over bottom placed Aston Villa, moving 3 points clear of Crystal Palace in the process.

Premier League action will have to take a two week break as we head into the international break, the next gameweek promises more entertainment as Tottenham travel to Anfield and Leicester host Southampton in their title run-in.
