AEW Superstar Chris Jericho was recently involved in creating the Stadium Stampede match. The whole affair was the main event of AEW’s Double or Nothing pay per view show.
In the match, Jericho’s Inner Circle faced off against The Elite, in utter pandemonium in the Jacksonville Jaguars TIAA Bank Field.
The whole event was spectacular, to say the least, and has been lauded by many for pushing the boundaries of pro-wrestling.

Chris Jericho on an Emmy-nominated Stadium Stampede?
In a recent interview with ESPN, Jericho spoke about the Stadium Stampede match and stated that the match should win an Emmy award.
“When you film a movie, there’s weeks, months of filming, weeks and months of editing. All that different stuff. We filmed the entire Stadium Stampede in nine hours. From 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Friday night to Saturday morning.
“And we had three hours to edit it before we had to take it to the truck. What we created in that time frame is monumental. We literally should win an Emmy for that,” said Jericho.
Jericho has been vocal about the creative achievement and has expressed his love for what the end product became.
He went deeper into why he thought the entire experience was so amazing. “We made this amazing spectacle that no one had ever seen before. It embodied everything of what pro wrestling is.

“It was serious, it was dangerous, it was breathtaking, it was funny, it was creative, it was unique, it was adventurous, it really was more of a short film than a match. And that’s what we wanted,” Jericho stated.
Whether Stadium Stampede was entertaining is a matter of opinion. But it is undeniable that the match pushed the boundaries of sports entertainment.
In a saturated pro-wrestling world, it was extremely refreshing to see new, innovative matches from AEW. Speaking about this, Jericho ended his interview with this statement – “It’s one of my favorite things and one of the best things that I’ve done in 30 years in this business.”
