Ever since they became professionals in the 1990s, Venus and Serena Williams have been incredibly successful. However, these successes have often led to both of them being compared to each other.
Together, the two sisters have had a much bigger impact on tennis, which is a lot more important than judging who is better. This is what Serena addressed in a recent advertisement by Nike as she said,
“Ever since we were little girls, you have compared us to each other. My game versus her game, my ranking vs her ranking, my titles versus her titles, my Grand Slams versus her Grand Slams.

“It’s funny, you saw two tennis players trying to win a game. We saw two sisters changing it.”

While these achievements are absolutely incredible, what is even more amazing is that the 2 sisters are still playing tennis. They are so much older than the other players on the WTA Tour and they are going to be playing the 2020 US Open, which begins today.
Obviously, the US Open is a very special tournament for them and they both have been champions there. Unfortunately, neither one of them has lifted the trophy since 2015, but that could change this year.
