Novak Djokovic and Maria Sharapova strolled down the memory lane from when they first met to how they became good friends in a fun and lengthy Instagram live session on Tuesday. One of the hilarious moments of their session came when Sharapova poked fun at Djokovic’s spirituality.

Over the years, Djokovic has formulated a new perspective on life, which he believes has helped him to grow as a person. It has also helped him overcome the fear and stress that comes with playing professional tennis. In this process, the Serb has turned into something of a philosopher and has become an advocate of well-being. However, Sharapova was not ready to talk philosophy with Djokovic during their Instagram chat.

Maria Sharapova quick to poke fun at Novak Djokovic

At one point, the two stars were talking about their hobbies and interests. Subsequently, Djokovic revealed that he likes reading and watching videos about wellness, mental health, spiritual health, etc. Sharapova then asked Djokovic to name something out of his comfort zone. In response, Djokovic was starting to incline towards philosophy, but Maria stopped him short, joking about his spiritual side.

“Uh-oh. We’re not going to start talking trees, right? I am not ready for that. I know I am in California at the moment, but we’re not going to start hugging trees,” Sharapova quipped.

However, at the end of their conversation, Djokovic urged Sharapova that the two could hug trees the next time they come live. “The next time we do a live, we can hug a tree together”, said Djokovic. “I would love to,” Sharapova responded.
