American tennis legend Serena Williams has been a dominating force in the women’s game. She has broken innumerable records and won titles on multiple occasions all over the globe. Recently, she was praised by former American player Chanda Rubin.
The former World No. 6 from the USA spoke highly of Serena Williams and highlighted her greatness. Rubin felt grateful to witness the spectacular aura of the 23-time Grand Slam winner. She stated that she has learnt many things in life due to sports.

The former Australian Open doubles champion stated, “I’m so grateful for the traits I’ve learned through playing sports. Absolutely show up just like you all did but I’m also very grateful for those who lifted me up and the opportunities. It was a true belief that I was where I was supposed to be. I was so grateful to have the opportunity to witness somebody like Serena.”
Chanda Rubin likens Serena Williams to former greats
During her parents’ time, they were huge fans of former American boxer Joe Lewis. He was regarded as one of the greatest and most influential boxers of all time. Rubin compared Joe’s greatness to that of Serena.
The 45-year-old former player further added, “I don’t know about your folks but my mom and dad would talk about greats like Joe Lewis and we can see where we are around Serena Williams. We were here to witness that kind of greatness.”

Coming to tennis, Williams has not been seen since the Wimbledon exit. After deciding to skip the US Open due to injury, her date of return is yet unknown. We wish her all the best in her future endeavors and hope she steps on the courts soon once again.
