Surfing sensation Jamie O’Brien indulges in the sport, not for titles and records but to continue living his passion without pressure. The 39-year-old aims to enjoy and share several surfing experiences with his fans through his videos. Recently, the Hawaii native shared his long-time wish of pipeline surfing at the Waikiki.
On April 9, O’Brien shared a short clip of him surfing at the Waikiki beach in Oahu, Hawaii, on Facebook. The surfer was accompanied by his girlfriend Tina Cohen, who also tried pipeline surfing. In the end, the surfer had hilarious feedback for his experience.

In his latest surfing video, Jamie expresses his excitement about surfing at the Waikiki beach. He starts the video by saying, “Waves are pretty fun over there”, indicating that since the waves were going to be of various sizes, he was expecting to have a lot of fun.
Furthermore, he pointed at Waikiki Beach in the video, showing the high-rising pipeline waves. Further in the video, the surfer and his partner began to surf toward the strong grueling pipeline waves. The video shows instances where they manage to stay steady, riding the waves, and also moments when lose their balance and fall.

By the end of the video, O’Brien remarked that he has to improve his nose-riding skills. He admitted that every time he climbed up the waves, he happened to fall. Furthermore, he expressed that both of them were trying to move in different directions but they were unsuccessful in it. He exclaimed, “Tina’s looking for right, I’m looking for left, it’s a bad collab”
Comparing O’Brien’s previous surfing antics, his Waikiki experience is a fun anecdote. And speaking of surfing antics, in 2015, O’Brien did the most unbelievable surfing stunt, by combining fire and water.

In 2015, Jamie rode one of the world’s most hazardous waves at Teahupo’o, Tahiti. The surfer added a risky element to his experience by setting his back on fire. It was the 39-year-old’s dream to perform a surfing stunt as deadly as this.

Jamie practiced the stunt many times with his team in Los Angeles. Once everyone felt he was ready, the location was shifted to Tahiti. In the beginning, he surfed through casual waves while being towed by his team on a speedboat. However, as soon as they saw the treacherous waves, they lit the surfer’s back on fire, and waited for the stunt to become a success.

Throughout the time Jamie performed the stunt, he was only curious to know whether he was performing well or not. Ultimately, he accomplished the unthinkable and shocked the world. Even after so many years, O’Brien has maintained his curiosity to go through newer surfing experiences. Perhaps, it keeps him going every day!
