Holly Holm took the world by surprise when she knocked out undefeated and undisputed UFC Bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey. Holm made history by becoming the first UFC fighter to knock out Rousey inside the octagon.
Holm halted Rousey’s 12-fight win streak in the second round of the fight at UFC 193. In doing so, she also became the new UFC Bantamweight champion of the world. Holm’s success was short-lived as she lost against Meisha Tate in her first title defense at UFC 196.

In her hometown of Australia, Holm faced Rousey for the UFC Bantamweight championship. Both the UFC fighters were undefeated going into the fight.
After an incredible first round, Holm and Rousey advanced to the second round, with Rousey looking more aggressive.
It’s when Holm took advantage and connected a beautiful left and followed it up with a devastating kick. Rousey fell on the mat as Holm followed it up with hammer fists for a knockout victory.

With over 53,000 fans inside the Melbourne ground, Holm created history by finishing Rousey to grab the UFC Gold with just two wins to her name under UFC. In the process, she also became the company’s second undisputed Bantamweight champion.

“I don’t know. You know what, getting in here, I have had so much love and support. I just felt like, how can I not do this. With all that love, you know, add so much. I had the best coaches.”
She praised her entire team for the victory while appreciating Rousey’s legacy in the UFC.
What’s next for Holly Holm?

She failed to get her hands on the championship belt at UFC 239, after being knocked out via head kick and punches from the current Bantamweight champion of the world Amanda Nunes.
Holm will next face Raquel Pennington in the Bantamweight division at UFC 246. The fight will serve as the co-main event of the evening and promises a spectacular showdown.
