As MMA fans, fights inside the octagon entertain us as well as the pre-fight and post-fight banter between the fighters. It’s a different kind of entertainment when the fights spill out of the octagon. Khabib Nurmagomedov will go down as one of the greatest MMA fights of all time. You might remember his controversies with Conor McGregor.

He was also involved in a bitter brawl with the equally notorious Diaz Brothers – Nate and Nick.  Their rivalry dates back to their brawl at an MMA event WSOF in 2015. It’s not new for the Stockton natives to pick a fight outside the octagon, and this time, it was Khabib Nurmagomedov.

From what has appeared out of the video, Nick Diaz threw his drinks on Khabib’s team to instigate a fight. However, both the fighters had different stories about why the brawl took place.

Here’s what Nurmagomedov told MMA Junkie, following the brawl.

“You know, fights happen between men. It’s OK. It’s normal. Sometimes it happens. But you know what? I’m a professional fighter. A UFC fighter and I’m here at a very big show in Las Vegas. A lot of people here, a lot of women here, and a lot of kids here.”

He added that he initially remained calm after the Diaz Brothers tried to instigate his team.

“When he began the second time, I went crazy too. I have to protect myself.”

Nate Diaz joins the brawl and claims to have slapped Khabib

In a series of posts shared by Khabib Nurmagomedov in reply to Nate Diaz on Twitter, it was clear that the brawl also broke out in the corridor after both the teams exited the stadium.

Nate Diaz mentioned the brawl when Khabib shared a post on Conor McGregor months after his win against The Notorious at UFC 229. The videos which Khabib uploaded and those available on the internet, suggest that all hell broke loose between the Diaz Brothers and Khabib.

However, Diaz mentioned a bitter quarrel by claiming to have slapped Khabib during the brawl. The Dagestani fighter replied back by calling Diaz a “coward” and stating that he and his team ran away from the fight.
