Hawk retires from five signature tricks
Despite ending his 16-year-old remarkable journey in 2003, the athlete is still considered one of the greatest skateboarders of all time. Hawk stands out as an iconic figure who has left his mark all over the skateboarding world.
Drawing the curtain on his famed moves, the athlete decided to redo five of his signature tricks, one of which was “Varial 540”.
“I’ve retired five signature tricks once and for all, offering them in a collection that will last forever,” said the skateboarder.
Varial 540 is not as easy as it sounds. Moreover, Hawk revealed that it is one of the scariest tricks he’s ever performed.
“Here is one that I landed recently for the last time ever: a varial 540. This one didn’t come easy, as the scary/technical tricks never do.”

“Varial 5’s have caused me more hoppers and whiplashes throughout the last 30 years than any other maneuverer, but I was determined to see it through one more time,” Hawk added.
Despite the threat the trick possesses, performing it to perfection one last time, meant the world to Hawk. The athlete finally retired all of his five signature tricks, including the toughest one.
