The southeast neighborhood of Houston witnessed a heart-wrenching incident. The families in the area complained that a dead horse was left to rot on the wayside for two weeks. The area where the horse was left is at the intersection of Cullen Boulevard and Belfort Avenue. The families in the neighborhood said that the stench of the corpse could be found from miles.
One witness said that “It looks like somebody just left the horse, it stinks when I walk by my heart goes back of my back“. He further appealed that somebody has to do something about it. After questioning the authorities, the city of Houston said that the horse was removed at 1:30 afternoon. It further explained that they are investigating the matter of how the horse arrived there.
The city’s waste management authorities stated that, according to their system, they collect dead animals from curb roads or main roads from Monday to Friday, between eight in the morning and five in the evening.
