We have seen a couple of stunning catches so far in the ongoing ICC World Cup, now a direct throw from Sheldon Cottrell has been added there in the highlighted thing. The incident took place during the game between West Indies and Bangladesh where both the teams are fighting for 2 valuable points to stay alive in the tournament.

Both the teams earlier won a single game apiece from their four games so far. However, Bangladesh won the toss and opted to field first in today’s game. Though they dismissed dangerous Chris Gayle for a 13-ball duck, another opener Evin Lewis scored a 67-ball 70.

While Sai Hope scored a stable 96 off 121, Shimron Hetmyer’s blistering 50 off 26, including four boundaries and 3 sixes and a quickfire 33 from Jason Holder took them to a decent competitive total of 321 in 50 overs.

Chasing a huge total, Bangladesh needed a flying start where Soumya Sarkar and Tamim Iqbal provided a stable start, adding 52 runs in 8.2 overs before Sarkar fell for 29. His dismissal brought Shakib Al Hasan on the crease. Both Shakib and Tamim started to resurrect the innings where they added 69 runs before Tamim got out.

Tamim failed to transfer the weight while driving and that gave Cottrell enough time to collect the ball and throw at the striker’s end. Though the in-form batsman dived, unfortunately, that couldn’t save him from getting dismissed. He scored 48 off 53 while dismissing, missed the fifty by mere two runs. His innings consisted of six boundaries.
