There was a breathtaking moment in the field while UAE was playing Scotland in the ICC World T20 qualifiers, when Rameez Shahzad pulled off a blinder.

Ahmad Raza was bowling the 14th over to George Munsey, when the Scotland batsman smacked it towards the long off boundary which was being guarded by Shahzad.

Munsey, like many others would have thought it was going over the rope, but Shehzad plucked it out of the air with an acrobatic jump and catching it with his right hand.

The catch was son much similar to Ben Stokes’ grab in the World Cup earlier this year that even the ICC tweeted a video of the two catches in parallel.

By the time Munsey was dismissed, he had already scored a 43-ball 65 by then, helping in laying a foundation for a big score along with fellow opener Kyle Coetzer who scored a steady 34. Richie Berrington, then came in and scored a flurry of quick runs, taking Scotland’s score to 198 for six in their 20 overs.

UAE, in reply to a big run chase, never really got going. Openers Chirag Suri and Rohan Mustafa were dismissed cheaply. Rameez Shahzad’s 34 remained their highest scorer as they were bowled out for 108. Safyaan Sharif and Mark Watt picked three wickets each for Scotland.
