Roger Federer was fairly excited about his meeting with Nadal in the semifinal of the French Open 2019. So the two players tweeted their respective tweets to mark the occasion of their 39th meeting. First, Federer tweeted about his 39th meeting with Nadal. Then, Nadal tweeted that he remembered shooting the Match for Africa promotional video.
As soon as Roger Federer started his dialogue, he would dissolve into peals of laughter, soon followed by Nadal. This carried on for a while before they finally nailed the dialogue and and pitched their match without a hitch.
The Match for Africa series is a recurring set of tennis exhibition matches and the revenue generated goes towards relief for the people. The event is organized by Roger Federer to raise money for the Roger Federer Foundation. In the exhibition, Federer competes in a singles match against one player in the ATP Top 10. Each match has raised over $1,000,000 in support of educational and athletic programs for children in Africa.
Like Federer and Nadal, many other sporting personalities have expressed their excitement about the clash. The likes of Indian cricketer Ajinkya Rahane, tennis players Mardy Fish and Alize Cornet have tweeted about the semifinal epic that awaits everyone.
