In the following set, it was Nadal who had to step up the ante. During the fourth game of the second set, both players were involved in the longest rally of the match so far.

The rally extended up to 40 shots and got fans on the edge of their seats. It so happened that the last shot of the point was a backhand sliced drop shot right from the corner of the baseline by Rafa, which helped him earn a breakpoint and thus he went on to get the first break of the match.

Things are heating up between Daniil Medvedev and Rafael Nadal

Medvedev being the fighter that he is, left no stone unturned and got two breakpoints but like we’ve been used to seeing all these years, the Spaniard never gives up and saved them both.

From the looks of it, there seemed to be quite some time left for these athletes to finish the match. It surely has all the makings of a great Grand Slam final. For the moment, we wish both players the best of luck.
