Mahomes is the son of Major League baseball player Pat Mahomes. He played three sports, as a high school junior – football, baseball, and basketball. His high school athletic director was certain he could have become a Division I basketball player. This was only the beginning for Pat junior. In 2014, he was named the 4A Texas State Player of the Year by the Associated Press.
The Quarterback, despite his athletic prowess across sports, chose football because of the infinite possibilities involved. Football permits him to put his unique skills to the best possible use. Patrick has been described as instinctive and smart, apart from the usual talented. As a quarterback, he is required to have in-depth knowledge to play the position. This knowledge is only acquired through experience or education. His responsibilities include studying as many defenses as possible to be able to make split-second decisions while attempting perplexing throws.

Many critics questioned if he had what it takes to become a franchise quarterback during the 2017 draft. But Mahomes has silenced all critics and surpassed all expectations with his stunning plays.
