Starting off the interview, Djokovic discarded tennis and asked Zverev how he felt ‘deep inside’. Zverev was surprised with the question and thus wondered why Djokovic was interested in the topic.

“So Sascha, here we are at Rolex Monte Carlo Masters 2021. How do you feel, man? Does anybody ask you how you feel? Just how are you deep inside?” Djokovic asked.

“You are the only one that is asking me. I don’t know, for some reason you’re the only one that is interested, actually. So it’s always very nice to talk to you. But every time we talk, it’s about three hours long, so we will not do this in front of the camera,” Zverev answered.

Furthermore, changing the topic, Djokovic asked Zverev about his things of interest other than tennis. Zverev replied, “The Universe” and thus sent both the players into laughter. Later, Zverev revealed it to be an inside joke with Djokovic.

“What are the other subjects that you’re interested in other than tennis? Not particularly with me, but just in general,” Djokovic asked.

“The universe. This is an insider that nobody will understand. How universal this world is in general.”
