Lando Norris is known for doing race reviews where he gives his own opinions about the Grand Prix. The Brit was watching the Austrian GP, where he was overtaken by Lewis Hamilton, but Norris jokingly states that he let him through, rather than Hamilton finding the gap.

However, within a few laps, Norris was fighting against the Knight for third place and was successful; he brought home a podium finish for the Woking-based team, making it their third this year.

The 21-year-old did his best to keep the 7-time world champion in his rearview mirror, but Hamilton got the better of him, gaining a position on him. Norris later jokingly explained that he wasn’t defending rather allowing him to get by.

He said, “Do you know chat? I let him pass here. You see him dive down the inside here, when I just let him pass. Look how hard my defense is, look at this defense.”

Hamilton acknowledged Lando’s great driving ability

While the Mercedes driver was chasing down Norris, he did put on a tough battle for Hamilton, so much so that Hamilton came on the team radio and gave him a compliment for his talent behind the wheel.

Hamilton said, “Such a great driver, Lando.”

Norris was pleased to hear this, as the multi-world champion applauded him for his skills, mid-race. The Red Bull Ring, saw Norris pick up his third podium of the season, and also ensuring that McLaren holds on to their third-place spot in the constructor’s standings.

The next race on Norris’s mind is the British Grand Prix held at Silverstone; he is hoping for a similar performance as Austria if not a better one in front of his home crowd.
