Mikaela Shiffrin receives a pleasant surprise in Beijing

Quite tragically, Mikaela Shiffrin lost her father in an accident back in 2020. Understandably, recovery has been extremely hard for her, also leaving her on the brink of quitting.

However, the champion skier did not give up and will be back in Tokyo, competing on the grandest stages of all. Arguably still a hard time, she needs all the motivation and inspiration she can get. Playing his part just right, boyfriend Kidle prepared a little something for his girlfriend, hoping to give her the extra boost she needs ahead of the games.

When Shiffrin entered her hotel room in Beijing, she found it decorated with pictures of her past performances. Several pictures were put up on the walls to help Mikaela feel at home. From pictures of her skiing to standing on the podium with a trophy, the room radiated just the energy needed to welcome the US champion.

“Someone dressed up my room a bit before we arrived for some extra inspiration,” wrote Mikaela.

She also tagged Kidle, saying that in her perfect welcome to China, the only thing missing was him.
