Red Bull driver Max Verstappen is undoubtedly a highly talented driver and it manifested from an early age. He started at a very young age just after testing a Renault 3.5 car. A few days later the test, he joined the Red Bull Drivers Academy and without even trying F2 or F3, he was straightaway in F1 with Toro Rosso in 2014 at a mere age of 17 years old.
But he was a talent from the very beginning and was recognised as a potential champion from as early as his karting days. Recently, footage emerged of the Dutch driver, as a 12-year old, taking part in a karting race.
Max Verstappen was somewhere at the back of the pack when the race began, and then the beast was unleashed. The young Dutch driver puled off an overtaking masterclass, scything through the field to eventually win at the northern French track of Ostricourt. The video is worth a watch. Usually these Karting videos are very rare to find and especially the one which showcases the now F1 drivers. Earlier a video was released involving the Dutch driver with Charles Leclerc showing their tussle over a crash when they were 12 years old.

Now, a decade later, Max Verstappen has made it into Formula One as one of the most promising drivers. Currently leading Red Bull Honda’s F1 project, he is one of the most sought after driver in the current paddock and despite being a mere 22 year old, he has 2 pole positions and 8 race victories to his name.
He bagged a maiden win in his first race as a Red Bull driver in Spain 2016, which was also his first race for the senior Red Bull team. In 2019, he finished third, ahead of the two Ferraris driving a Honda powered car.
