Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma got hit in the eye during the game between Los Angeles Lakers and Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday at the Staples Centre.

Just a few minutes into the second quarter, Oklahoma City’s Darius Bazley was trying to drive in when his elbow seemed to hit Kuzma right at his eye.

Kuzma immediately walked off into the locker room and further updates on him are yet to be received.

The score with just over nine minutes to go in the second quarter read 33-38 in favour of the Lakers.

 

The Lakers conitnued to half time without Kuzma, with a 10 point lead over Oklahoma.

The LeBron James and Anthony Davis pair once gain came good for the Lakers. Davis scored 19 points apart from two assists and two rebounds, while James had registered 15 points, four assists, five rebounds at half time.

Kuzma- “finding his way”-

It was before the game that Lakers coach Frank Vogel was talking about Kuzma still settling down in the Lakers side. Kuzma was the 27th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft by Brooklyn Nets, but was traded to the Lakers on Draft night.

He has showed decent performances in the Lakers jersey, but is yet to acertain himself. Vogel felt that Kuzma was improving and is in the process of getting his rythm.

”He’s still finding his way,” Vogel said. “Offensively… within our system where his shots are going to come and playing the game the right way, being assertive but not too assertive. Defensively… within our coverages. He’s been pretty good defensively up to tonight. [He] had some good stretches tonight but he’s still in the process of getting his legs under him, getting his rhythm and timing on both ends of the floor.”
