Laver Cup 2022, which had all the hype of witnessing Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal on the same court for the last time, took an unexpected turn as a protestor broke into the match between Stefanos Tsistsipas and Diego Schwartzman. As you can see in the video below the man set himself on fire right in the middle of the tennis court.

The person was later identified as a protestor for climate change, and was protesting against the private jets in the UK. It was indeed ironic that the protest took place at an event at which most of its attendees have travelled to in a private jet. Private jet emissions are known to have been the prime causes in worsening the climate.
The protest however did not stop the Laver cup from continuing as Stefanos Tsitsipas destroyed Diego in straight sets(6-2, 6-1) to give Team Europe a solid start.
