The No 989 MRS GT-Racing Porsche 991 made a routine pit stop and the stop was completed without a hitch. However, the real drama was when the No 77 Barwell Motorsport Lamborghini Huracan entered around the same time as the Porsche. The MRS Porsche quartet of Gosia Rdest, Jukka Honkavuori, John Hartshorne and Ollie Hancock got the green light to exit the pit box.
However, unbeknownst to them, a Barwell mechanic was running around with a Lamborghini tyre, and as he passed the MRS crew member he shoved him out of the way. The poor MRS mechanic was thrown forward and his head smacked into the rear wing of the Porsche.

Were there any repercussions?
Bizarrely, the Barwell team only copped a four-minute time penalty for causing the accident, though the punishment should have been more harsh. The incident took place early in the rain-interrupted race that was eventually red flagged. When the race was stopped, only seven hours and 17 minutes of racing were completed as the heavens opened.
