Australian opener David Warner had to greet in a crazy fashion when he spotted his friend at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Rashid Khan and David Warner have been playing for the same franchise (Sunrisers Hyderabad) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) since 2017 and they must have become closer to each other during their time there.

Hence, when David saw Rashid busy signing autographs at the MCG, he playfully hit the Afghan with his bat.

Rashid Khan is currently in Australia playing in the Big Bash League (BBL) 2019/20 season for Adelaide Strikers, while Warner was with the Australian team for the boxing day test match against New Zealand.

The Strikers posted a video of Warner hitting Rashid from the team’s Twitter handle.

At the end of the day, both the friends had a reason to smile with their respective teams ending up on the winning side. Rashid Khan was also named the man of the match for his bowling performance. He returned figures of 4-15 in his four overs when the opposition were chasing a target of 156 runs. In his final over, the 17th over of the match, Rashid gave away just six runs when the required run rate was close to 12. This almost took the game away from the Melbourne Renegades. But his final over will be remembered for another funny incident. The umpire’s actions had almost fooled Rashid and his teammates into believing they had taken a wicket. The umpire seemed to have been raising his finger slowly, but the hand eventually went to his nose.
