Just over a month ago, Infinity Ward gave us Call of Duty Warzone, its first Battle Royale title. Recent years have seen BR games really take a foothold in the gaming industry. A highly competitive market with games like Fortnite, Apex Legends, PUBG and more, it was always a risk to take the dive into the genre. However, it all worked out well for the developers, with Warzone becoming an instant hit.
On April 10, exactly a month after Warzone’s release, news broke that the title had surpassed a mind-boggling 50 million players. But that wasn’t all too big a surprise given how well it had fared within the first 10 days of release.

Among the 15 million players to take up Call of Duty Warzone in its first three days were many popular streamers like Shroud, Dr DisRespect, Ninja and others. These personalities have a lot of clout in the industry with millions hanging on their word. Naturally, the popularity of the game kept growing.

While many games tend to attract a ton of interest in the initial phase of its release, they tend to lose its sheen until it is nothing more than a shell of a game. Call of Duty Warzone, though, will not lose its popularity.

First off, Activision and Infinity Ward know exactly what keeps the players’ interest in a game. They’ve, after all, produced countless popular titles that are still a joy to play.
The most popular Br titles have a calling card of their own. Fortnite’s graphics are cartoonish while its gameplay is a bit goofy. Apex Legends has supernatural elements embedded in the fundamentals of the game.
Similarly, Warzone gives users something most other BR titles do not- an arcade shooter feel.

While many users have complained that the game is strewn with hackers and other issues, it is not a grave situation. the developers are very much in control of the problems and can easily improve it.
I fully expect the game to maintain its popularity, if not grow even more in the coming months.
