While the entire country waits for salon shops to open up, Shane Burgos gets a haircut in the middle of a fight, inside the UFC Octagon!
Shane Burgos is on an impeccable run right now. He is on an 8 fight win streak, out of which 7 come via finishes. Burgos is unbeaten in his career so far. He went to battle against Tiago “Trator” Dos Santos E Silva at UFC Fight Night 102 in Albany. And he made UFC history.
Shane Burgos does something unheard of between rounds. He gets a haircut from one of his cornermen. A hairstylist in your corner, that’s new! But yes, Shane Burgos in between the second and third round of his fight against Tiago E Silva got his ponytail cut off as it was coming in his way. It was proving to be a distraction and Burgos chose victory over a fashion statement.

Shane Burgos explains this decision
The fight ended via decision and was scored 30-26, 29-28 and 29-27 for Burgos. So matter how long it took to grow that out, it was well worth the sacrifice. He said it was a planned move and went on to explain it in his post-fight interview.

Shane Burgos said, “I told my corner that if the fight goes past the first round and my hair is getting in my face to cut (my ponytail) off. It wasn’t getting in my face the first round, but it started to in the second, so I told them to cut it off. It was pretty memorable, but it was planned beforehand. That was the first Octagon haircut, right? I think that’s worth a bonus. ‘Fight of the Night’ maybe?”
As a fighter, @HurricaneShaneB is willing to risk it all in pursuit of victory.
