Formula One fans are understandably very passionate about their favourite drivers. The same can be said of fans supporting drivers from their own turf. This kind of adoration was seen when Australia’s Daniel Ricciardo briefly took pole at the 2014 Australian GP.
The Perth driver was chasing Nico Rosberg’s provisional pole time with the majority of fans egging him on. So, when he crossed the finish line to take provisional pole, the roar of the crowd was deafening and enough to drown out the sound of the cars themselves.
However, when Lewis Hamilton snatched pole, there was another cheer, but probably ot as loud as the reception Ricciardo got.
