Aryna Sabalenka defeats Qinwen Zheng to lift her second Grand Slam title in the 2024 Australian Open. The Belarusian beauty played in her third Grand Slam final and has a big smile on her face as she now plans on celebrating. Sabalenka was giddy after her win and couldn’t wait for the celebrations to begin as she strutted about holding her trophy.  

Sabalenka has more than one reason to be happy on this occasion. She not only won her second Grand Slam title but also went on to create a record in the WTA.

Sabalenka won the match with ease. In the entire tournament, she has breezed past opponents, only finding it difficult to shut down Coco Gauff in the semifinal. Gauff was the only player to push her to a tie-break, but even she could not take a set from the Belarusian star. Sabalenka won against Zheng in straight sets as well. 

After the clash, the 25-year-old couldn’t wait to start celebrating as she danced during the post-match interview. One user shared a video of her dancing with her interviewer and wrote, “Aryna Sabalenka doing her winner’s dance live on Eurosport 😭“. 

After the trophy ceremony, she strutted about holding the trophy with one hand and a large smile on her face. The Belarusian couldn’t hide her happiness and she didn’t even want to do it. Embracing the feeling of satisfaction, Sabalenka danced around. 

Sabalenka is all smiles after her second grand slam title. She has played great throughout the tournament and did not encounter much difficulty in the final match either. She has more than one reason to smile as she now enters a prestigious list in women’s tennis.

Sabalenka creates WTA history

Sabalenka’s stint in the Aussie Slam was astounding. She went on to demolish every player who played against her and won the championship without losing a set. The Belarusian beauty also managed to create history in the tournament. She became the fifth player to win the tournament in straight sets since 2000. The most recent WTA stars who had a similar achievement are Serena Williams and Ash Barty. 

After the match, Sabalenka gave a speech where she had a big smile on her face, and her team also showcased their immense love for her. Sabalenka will go out to party all night and will soon get back to work to win many more slams in the future.
