The Future Of Gaming event for PlayStation 5 finally kicked off after a week’s delay on June 11. We were delighted with splendid displays of next-generation gaming experience. From everything that we have seen, the games look fantastic. Each and every game coming to PS5 is unique and fans are thrilled.

All games revealed at PS5 event

The event showcased trailers and gameplay of 24 games (GTA V makes it 25), and each one stood out from the other. Here is the list of all the next-gen games announced for Sony’s next-gen console in a sequential manner.

PS5 event starts off with a bang with Spider-Man: Miles Morales

This first game revealed at The Future of Gaming event was Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Insomniac Games is developing the upcoming game and Sony Interactive Entertainment is the publisher. The title is the next entry in Marvel’s Spider-Man series which kicked off in 2018. The event showcased a brief teaser trailer that centered around Miles Morales as Spider-Man. The game will release during Holiday 2020 for PlayStation 5.

Gran Turismo 7

Gran Turismo 7 is going to be the eighth game in Polyphony Digital’s racing simulation series, Gran Turismo. The gameplay footage from the trailer revealed bits and pieces of a map and some other in-game screens. Apart from that, we got to see some intense racing action from the driver’s seat. The game truly appears the real driving simulator it claims to be. Sony Interactive Entertainment is the publisher and the game will release some time in 2021 for PS5.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

The next game to follow was Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. The event treated us with some pre-alpha gameplay footage that seemed like an interdimensional adventure. Developed by Insomniac Games, Rift Apart is set to be the latest inclusion into the third-person shooter platformer series Ratchet & Clank, since 2016. The game will be a PlayStation 5 exclusive but the developer did not announce a release date at the event.

Project Athia

Square Enix and Luminous Productions dropped a brief but breathtaking trailer for their work in progress, Project Athia. A first look at the teaser trailer gave us some insight into the female protagonist, the in-game world’s mountainous and rocky terrain, and the monstrous creatures roaming around. The game is designed exclusively for PS5 but no release date is available yet.

Stray

Developer BlueTwelve and publisher Annapurna Interactive revealed a teaser trailer for their upcoming game Stray. The narrative revolves around a stray cat, lost and alone, wandering in the alleyways of a futuristic, but gloomy city surrounded by robots. The cat has a robotic companion in the form of a drone. Stray is coming to PS5 as well as PC in 2021 and is also available to add on your Wishlist in Steam.

Returnal

Returnal, a game by Housemarque, was next to feature at the event. The trailer looked nothing short of the sci-fi horror movie Prometheus. The female protagonist finds herself in a deserted planet inhabited by terrifying extraterrestrials after her spaceship crashes. She has no choice but to break the cycle before the cycle breaks her. Apart from the aliens, the trailer also provided a first look at the gunplay mechanics and the planet’s landscape. There is no release date available for Returnal yet, but it is going to be a PS5 exclusive.

Sackboy: A Big Adventure

Sumo Digital and Sony Interactive Entertainment presented a trailer for their upcoming platformer game Sackboy: A Big Adventure next. The game is the will the latest installment in the LittleBigPlanet series and will implement 3D platforming mechanisms as opposed to previous titles. The game’s backgrounds look vividly colorful and players will have the option to play solo or with friends. Another PS5 exclusive, but it doesn’t have a release window yet.

Destruction AllStars

Destruction AllStars featured next in the sequence. Developed by Lucid Games, the gameplay is heavily centered around vehicular combat and the many characters that assume control of the fleeting vehicles. Once again, Sony Interactive Entertainment is the publisher and the game is PS5 exclusive. However, the developer didn’t reveal any release window for the upcoming game.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits

Two brothers, Mike and Josh Grier announced the next game, Kena: Bridge of Spirits. Developed by Ember Lab the game is full of charm and adventure. The trailer’s narrative revolves around a young girl who possesses a magical staff. We see her fighting against a variety of monsters and creatures using her staff that is able to transform. The game has a Holiday 2020 release window and will be available for PS5, PS4 as well as on the Epic Games Store.

Goodbye Volcano High

After that, KO-OP introduced Goodbye Volcano High. According to the developer, it is a “cinematic, choice-based narrative game set in the final year of school for a bunch of dinosaur teens, on the cusp of graduation and the rest of their lives”. As shown in the trailer, the game’s theme is the end of an era and the start of a love story. Goodbye Volcano High will release in 2021 for PS4, PS5, and on Steam.
