The Graphical Modes of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart on the PlayStation 5
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is at its visual peak in the Fidelity mode. By selecting this mode, players can see the environment in 4K resolution. The Fidelity option takes advantage of the PlayStation 5’s amazing hardware, and the game’s world look amazing with Ray-Tracing. But it also has a major gameplay disadvantage, as the game is locked at 30 FPS.
The RT Performance and Performance mode allow for a much smoother experience as players get to play in 60FPS. The resolution in these modes is much more dynamic compared to Fidelity. The Performance runs from 216op to 1440p with most situations having an average resolution around 1800p. The RT Performance runs from 2160p to 1080p with most situations having an average of resolution around 1440p. But, RT performance has Ray-Tracing which improves the visuals significantly, and it is absent in the other variant.

Other graphical and performance differences
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart plays with a stable frame rate in all three modes even in busy environments. The PlayStation 5 title has little to no frame drops because of the amazing optimization by the developers at Insomniac Games. Along with that, there isn’t any difference in the textures, shadows, draw distance or any other settings between the three graphics mode.
Other than the frame rate and resolution changes, the reflections are slightly tweaked for the three graphics modes. As there is no Ray-Tracing, the performance mode has the minimum amount of detail in the reflections. Fidelity has the highest quality of reflections in the game and RT performance also has Ray-Traced reflections with a slight decrease in the resolution.
RT performance is the most optimal choice for players wanting to play Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart on the PlayStation 5. This is because the visuals still look amazing around 1440p, even though it isn’t running at 2160p like the Fidelity mode. Along with that, it provides a much smoother gameplay experience at 60 FPS. While the Performance variant offers better resolution, players can’t miss out on the Ray-Tracing aspect of the visuals.
