Just a couple of days back, Dignitas announced that they had parted ways with Kevin “POISED” Ngo and Ryan “shanks” Ng. Most Valorant teams are going through a process of a rebuild, so this may not seem out of the ordinary. But examining the course of events leading up to this decision, things just don’t fall in place.

Both players had come on board on a trial period but impressed everyone with a decent run of performances. Moreover, Dignitas had appointed a new roster just a month back, and the team had a good run at the Pop Flash.

This is what irked the fans and raised a very important question. What is the underlying reason behind their departure?

Looking at the cryptic tweets posted by other pros, the community has started joining the dots. One theory suggests that Dignitas let shanks and poised and walk because of their possible connection to a match-fixing scandal.

Poised was never really under the radar, but a lot of names had emerged owing to the ongoing investigation into the scandal. Shanks, on the other hand, was outed by someone on Austin “Cooper-” Abadir’s CS:GO stream.

The investigation has been going on for over eighteen months. The Esports Integrity Commission has announced that it was investigating a number of significant cases and is close to a conclusion.

It is possible that both poised and shanks were being investigated by the ESIC, which is why Dignitas did not want to be associated with them.

There is more to the Dignitas Valorant roster changes than what meets the eye. However, this is all conjecture until ESIC make an official statement.
