The legendary duo, David Warner and Chris Rogers will no longer be seen in action after the Ashes Test, as Chris Rogers will mostly retire after the Ashes if reports are to be believed.
Their clash of egos, their uncanny way of complementing each other and their contrasting ways of playing will be missed in the cricketing arena.
These two have enjoyed great success over the years and no other pair in their era has even come close to what they have achieved so far. They have more than 16 fifty plus stands between them in tests and 8 century stands between them which is something to boast about.

There is calmness and serenity in Rogers’s batting whereas Warner is flamboyant and fierce in his approach. Their statistics also tend to agree upon this fact. While both of these batsmen have their average in the 40s, Warner’s strike rate is 76 with Rogers’s as 50 and Warner has hit 36 sixes in tests and Rogers only 1.
Such a pair is an anomaly to the list of prolific opening pairs. Hence, it would be a herculean effort to fill in their boots. The hunt to find a new opening pair has been started with few names already coming up. Among them, a few prominent ones are the Australian star captain Usman Khawaja and Joe Burns. The talented Robert Bancroft is on the list too.
Khawaja, who did not have a good start in his career and was dropped is high on confidence with his Australian exploits, is most agreeable for this position. Let us see who is chosen as the worthy candidate for this post.
