The match yesterday between Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Kolkata Knight Riders saw a list of records being broken. David Warner was in sublime form for his innings of 126 from 59 deliveries. His innings consisted of 10 fours and 8 blistering sixes. The pair of David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan together put up a total of 139 for the first wicket. This was a record sixth time that a pair has put up a century partnership in T20 cricket. With this partnership, they have scored a total of 2090 runs for the first wicket which is the highest by any pair for any wicket in this format. Warner scoring 126 bettered his highest score in IPL: 109 he made against the Deccan Chargers in 2012 playing for the Delhi Daredevils. He was awarded the Man of match for his heroic display of valiant shots all around the park. He is now fourth on the list for most sixes in IPL. However, his blossoming career has been mired in controversy. David Warner has often been described a 'thuggish' on the field. In 2013, he was accused of physically assaulting England player Joe Root. In the same year, he had an on-field altercation with the South Africa A wicketkeeper.

In 2018, he was involved in yet another alternation, again during a South Africa game. But the biggest one yet was in the same year when he and skipper Steve Smith were embroiled in a ball-tampering scandal. He was the vice captain of the Australia team at the time and was forced to step down along with Smith.

33-year old Shikhar Dhawan is currently seen as the star player for Delhi Capitals. The Delhi-born man was one of the key players for the national team. Shikhar Dhawan's records include, the fastest ever debut century.

He first made his mark on the Indian team in 2010 with the ODI squad. A year later, he was drafted into the Two team, and finally, the Test team in 2013.
