Warner Bros Games have just released a new teaser for an upcoming Batman game today. While the teaser is quite confusing and unclear, it does give away a few hints. In a ‘blink and you miss’ fashion two images appear. While we aren’t too sure of the second one, the first definitely reminds us of something. It looks like WB’s newest Batman game will feature The Court of Owls.

If you are unaware, The Court of Owls is an organized crime body functioning in Gotham City. It was introduced in DC’s continuity in the 2011 reboot, The New 52.
They even have a nursery rhyme dedicated to them passed down through generations;
Beware the Court of Owls, that watches all the time,
Ruling Gotham from a shadowed perch, behind granite and lime.
They watch you at your hearth, they watch you in your bed.
Speak not a whispered word about them, or they’ll send the Talon for your head.
The post teases a glimpse of what looks like a bird, which is most probably an owl. Hence, the preconceived notion about the Court of Owls.

Warner Bros fires up Twitter with Batman tease
The Twitter post also mentions a Morse code. Fans immediately started to work on it to decode the message. It reads “WE HAVE BEEN EXPECTING YOU 8/18.”

8/18 refers to the 18th of August, which is tomorrow. So technically, we are likely to get further updates about the game tomorrow. The tweet also mentions another account that has posted a single tweet, which is the teaser itself. At the moment we are unclear what it means. Clearly, though, WB is trying to hype the game up before they make a reveal.

This tweet has the Court of Owls reference as well. This further pushes the theory that the new Batman game will revolve around the secret society.
We can expect more bits of information in the coming days. A full announcement is not confirmed yet but it seems likely this game will be revealed at DC FanDome on August 22nd. After a 7-year hiatus, the Dark Knight is set to return.
