Lewis Hamilton would want to forget about the last two seasons as early as possible. The entire 2022 season was like rubbing salt in the wound of the 2021 season. Hamilton and Co. would hope for a better and more competitive 2023. However, Mercedes is on the same timeline as the 2022 season in their manufacturing processes. A frightening path!

The Mercedes W13 was possibly the worst challenger produced in Brackley since the team’s inception in 2010. The team could only manage one win in the second last race of the season thanks to George Russell. A race win, that the Mercedes men and the team could not even think about more than halfway through the season. Hamilton could not extend his ‘one-race win in every season competed’ record. This was all down to the poor state of the W13.

A lot of fans believe Mercedes was a little hasty with the production of the W13 and underestimated the complexities of the 2022 regulations. The team paid the price with the most bouncy car on the grid. We can all correlate the haste to the team firing up the W13 engine as early as December.

Mercedes has done that again. The team back in Brackley posted a video of the W14 coming to life for the first time. However, we’re not even into the new year yet and this is extremely similar to the timeline of 2022.

Maybe the team back in Brackley has figured out what went wrong with the W13 and got a jump start on their competitors. Maybe an early engine fire-up is a good sign. Regardless, here’s hoping for Mercedes’ sake the W14 doesn’t fire back like the W13.
