The Moto GP practice session commenced with riders trying their best on speed. Yamaha’s Moto GP rider, Fabio Quartararo, had a heart-stopping moment during practice at the Japanese Grand Prix.
The incident occurred as he exited the famous Motegi tunnel, gearing up for Turn 6, known as 130R, one of the fastest sections of the track. Initially, many speculated that Quartararo lost control due to the painted curbs, which offered slightly less grip. However, the rider later revealed that it was a technical glitch that caused the crash.

According to Quartararo, a problem with his front wheel caused it to stop spinning when it briefly lifted off the ground during a slight wheelie as he accelerated out of Turn 5. When the wheel made contact with the ground again, it instantly locked up, resulting in a dramatic fall.
On the floor before you could say Motegi! 😮

Quartararo commented on the incident, saying, “I had an issue with the brake, so the front wheel was not turning normally. When the front wheel was in the air, it was stopping, and when I landed on Turn 6, it just locked, and I lost the front. A real shame.”
This crash bagged in a lot of reactions as well.

Despite sustaining some soreness, particularly in his neck and foot, Quartararo displayed remarkable resilience by rejoining the FP2 session after the crash. However, even more frustration awaited him as he narrowly missed the opportunity to advance directly to Saturday’s Q2 session by a mere two-tenths of a second. This race witnessed more falls of star racers, such as Marc Marquez. A perfect balance of the potential of a racer with a calibre of the bike can win tough races.
