Controversial Ex-Manchester United Star is Set to Make a Return in a Popular Video Game

Greenwood on Football Manager

In February 2022, Ex-Manchester United player Mason Greenwood was called into custody on suspicion of rape, assault, and threats to kill. He was later arrested for violating the terms of his bail. Since his arrest, the victim of the case decided to drop all charges against Greenwood in early 2023. However, the saga has resulted in Manchester United ending their ties with Greenwood after a thorough review. The player was loaned out to Spanish club Getafe, which brings the controversial Englishman back into the ‘Football Manager 2024’ roster of players.

While players serving suspensions are generally left off the game, reinstated players make their way back into the system, a source said. However, Greenwood will be sidelined for the 2023 version of Football Manager. He will only return in the 2024 version of the game. While Greenwood was also removed from EA Sports’ previous games, EA has not responded on whether he will be part of their 2024 game, which will be released this month.

The internet remains divided on Greenwood’s situation, with some supporting the winger and others condemning his actions. The consequences of this decision by the game could be far-reaching and unforeseen at this time.

Only time will tell what fate has in store for Greenwood. As of now, he is a player capable of playing at the top level of world football. Despite his controversial baggage, many clubs seemed interested in signing the youngster after he was let go from Manchester United.
